I don't understand why drones aren't used more often in marathon coverage. A drone with a 30 minute flight time could cover maybe 20 minutes of the race before landing and switching off to another drone. The car and motorbike shots are either so close you only see a few runners or telephoto from the front looking back so you can't even tell who is leading.
Hopeful this is the coverage for the races. I don't have ESPN or live local to get the ABC channel....
Can't wait for ESPN to miss the main move of the men's and women's races later while airing a video package on someone who overcame shingles to run this race.

Rupp with a Carlos Lopes style victory today!

It's also on Flotrack, Swangard and Goucher (unfortunately) doing commentary. Don't know why the BroJos didn't tell us that in their coverage.
I traveled to Singapore to watch the race since I don't have ESPN. Wasn't expecting to hear Leigh and Kara, but hopefully this is better than the US broadcast
Ignore what I said about the beanie. Somehow it fell out of the bag and is still at Chris Lear’s house. But I’m ready to go:
Best seat in the house. Sitting next to Sean Hartnett - the professor of the marathon.
Less wheelchair and stories please.
Rojo, please dont be inspired by the Mt. Sac camerman. Keep your fat rear in the seat and don't fall out and knock out any runners!
The announcer just said "maybe we should handicap the field" when referring to the wheelchair racers and why they get to start first...
Imagine ANY sporting every cut away from it's main event to go to a wheelchair version? Minimal NBA preview because they're covering wheelchair basketball. 1st Quarter of the Superbowl and they cut away from a drive to check out what's happening in wheelchair football? If inclusivity is the goal, offer it's own separate coverage from the mens/womens race (can still be on the same day/location due to logisitcs), not ramming it over the event 99% of people are tuning in to watch.
Give the WC racers their due until the elite men and women's runners start. Split screen from that point on of the men's and women's leaders with a brief break for the WC finish. I guess that would be in a perfect world as ESPN will continue with their failed formula for covering marathon majors.
Team Canada will sit in the team Canada chair in the corner as joe klecker powers to a win
Can’t wait to see all the wheelchairs! Who doesn’t love Wokeism!
I would like to see them start the wheelchair divisions 1 hour (instead of 30 minutes) prior to the elite runners. This gives more wheelchair coverage to those who wish to see it and more dedicated time to the elite men and women.

Thank you, I am watching now. John Korir looks too relaxed and happy, he knows he is about to get an easy win.

Download the Very Local app and use zip 01748. Working for me
comment of the year so far...something like if you get out to enough of a lead early, and hold it, you can win.......
