Cell phone video shows a Newton Police bicycle patrol lined up between the group and the runners.

Newton Police put out a statement: "After being notified by the B.A.A. three times about spectators traversing the rope barrier and impeding runners, the Newton Police Department responded respectfully and repeatedly requesting that spectators stay behind the rope."

Elsewhere, runners complained of being triggered and traumatized by the kissing tradition at Wellesley.

She seems to have the most basic “liberal white mom” personality. It’s even evident in the script she follows in her post, using “liberal white mom” greatest hits like “not ok” and “we have a long way to go.”

This really is about the black experience in a white space. They thought they were being enthusiastic and high-fiving runners (probably confetti canon is not a good idea at 10th anniversary of a bombing). A bunch of Karens called the cops saying they were loud and disruptive (probably did get in the way of some runners but most are bedraggled by that point and likely there's space). It looks like overpolicing.

The Wellesley bit is about them saying that girls jump out on the race to kiss runners. No police there. The girls are also heralded for being so loud it's a tradition. But here these people of color are being called too loud. I see their point of view although I also see why a couple cops could've told them to watch out for other people and get rid of the canon.

Only way to "solve" it is to buy her book$$$ I assume.

That isn’t remotely what the dude said. “Racism” has lost its meaning because the left insists it can find it everywhere, up to and including washing machines that play a tune when the cycle is done. (It’s because slaves had to sing while they worked, according to a real article I read once.) Racism exists but the left has made its entire mission for ten years to be, cry racist wolf (and sexist wolf, and various -phobic wolves) so that at this point no one should credit them, and only believe racism occurred in a specific instance if their own skeptical inquiry suggests that it did. Postmodern leftism introduce the “always believe (group)” idea to politics and we’ve seen groups that idea is meant to benefit completely abuse it to the point that their credibility is shot. And that’s not even considering the pretzels they twist themselves into, like claiming the Memphis murder of a black man by black officers is explainable by “internalized” racism.

From this video and the post you see an example of what I mean: a black group was not allowed to do just literally whatever they felt like in the moment, and because they were BTFO it’s described as “ThIs Is WhAt It’S lIkE tO bE bLaCk At ThE bOsToN mArAtHoN!!!” Absolute BS.

They have footage of them out on the course with their friends supporting them with a banner and running with them for a bit. It looks harmless to me.

Actually the word woke has lost its meaning because the right have a hangnail and blame it on some boogeyman they claim is wokeism. It is all very laughable to the intelligent.

This graphic is silly. Is Desir saying the oldest annual marathon in the world should now change its route to go through more diverse areas? Even she can't be ridiculous enough to claim that the 1897 route was laid out expressly to keep white runners feeling safe. (The route was conceived on logistical grounds--how could officials most easily keep track of the runners. Because the first Olympic marathon was point to point, it made sense for Boston to be.)

If she's not calling for the course to be dramatically revised, what's the point of constantly promoting this graphic race weekend? To break the news that the Boston suburbs are predominantly white?

She is making her entire career out of being “the fat lady who points out how running isn’t made for her, but because she’s black and not the reason you’d guess.” She’d figure out some way to find racism in any route, or any other aspect of any major event, because finding racism is her career. She probably jumped for joy (then bent over and took several deep breaths) when that “THIS IS WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE BLACK” tweet showed up in her timeline because it gave her another angle of attack to promote herself, er, fight racism.
