Baltimore comes up short as a city in many ways, no surprise.
Ran that race twice. I actually liked it and always ran well there. It was better when they offered money to the winner I.e. when the Kenyans/Ethiopians showed up. Much more competitive. Those were the two times I ran. Now the winning time is in the 2:30’s where some local guy/girl gets a little tv attention and publicity which they feel like a rock star for a day.
Didn’t Under Armour stop sponsoring? May explain the shortcomings.
Basically sums up why Under Armour left. Like I said above it was great the two years I ran it but it hasn’t been the same. Channel 11 tries its best to spice it up but it is what it is. I hope they can find a new sponsor though I find it unlikely.
Baltimore is an awesome race. It has amazing spectator support, and it was most definitely not short. Just look at Strava. Everyone's results were way over 26.2.
