22 miles at 7000ft at 5:40 pace. Blew his load in the workout. The old man is done.

5:40 is a jog for him. I'm more surprised by him claiming that is his longest run ever.
He posts a lot of his workouts on IG. He does a lot of long runs starting easy and then throws in 6-10 miles of 4:4X pace in the middle or at the end. I'm guessing his recent 22 miler was another of these style workouts.

Nope. Pretty steady. Last 6 miles a little slower cuz of hils. Mostly 5:20s

Mr. Lagat will tell you when he is done.
That’s a great training run for a guy capable of 4:50-5:00 pace in a thon. Kipchoge does his long runs at 5:20-30 pace at altitude. So for Lagat this is rate on point.

40+ dude 4:4X miles in the middle of a long run, OMFG.
I'm much more likely to believe he'll be on the 2020 Olympic Marathon team than to think he's done.
