Hello,
I am considering buying a garmin foot pod because my 235 seems to be pretty innacurate in forests, around 30 to 45 seconds per mile. There are a lot of switchbacks on the trails I run on so it makes sense. I'd rather not spend an extra 130 dollars on Stryd.
I was wondering how the process works. I've read that a foot pod can replace GPS for the watch. But can the foot pod work in tandem with the watch, filling in whenever the GPS signal gets spotty? If anything, could the watch still record the route and map while the foot pod does all the pace and distance work? Or if I use the foot pod does GPS have to be disabled? It would be really cool if I could use the foot pod as an accuracy enhancer without totally compromising the GPS. I do like looking at the maps and route I ran. If I am incorrect about how the foot pod works please inform me. Thanks for reading.
