Now see this is a female hire that was done correctly. She is very qualified and deserves this position! Way to go Iowa state for doing it right. Shame on these other schools

Yup, big upgrade over grove-mcdonough who was taking the team in the wrong direction. Grove McDonough knew she was in the hot seat and jumped ship.
Amy was a tremendous runner and has at least been around college coaching with husband Mark, but for all practical purposes, has never coached in her life (recruiting). It’s Iowa State and the program is up and running. There are many male coaches whose style runs cold and I agree Andrea’s may have been headed down that path?

Yeah, after reading up on Andrea’s bio, I thought it was an “OK” (not good not bad) hire for North Carolina. However, when LR posted the decline of the women’s program ever since she first arrived at ISU, I can see why she might be on the hot seat and would jump ship. This now makes sense on why she’d take the pay cut, too.
Maybe all things that glitter aren’t gold?
Herbster to Pitt-Announcement coming soon.
D3 mostly draws from high schools? You're an idiot.
Interesting observation. Would you elaborate on what you mean by style runs cold?

Worst hires of the season?
distance:Plummer, Texas
throws:Jones, Purdue
jumps: Need to wait and see who UNC hires
sprints: West, Texas
Who is the top Candidate for the Memphis position? It's going to be difficult for him or her to fill Miles shoes.

A few other female only distance hires were pretty awful as well
The ISU hire is odd. Yes she is one of a handful of US sub-15 5k talents but CC is about recruiting first, everything else secondary. Something similar was tried at UConn a few years ago and it lasted about 6 months.
Anybody who thinks replacing Grove McDonough will be easy doesn't get it.
ISU is ~30min away from Drake. Able to make a quick hire with name recognition was probably exactly what Martin wanted.
So Bray returns to Akron to coach Distance?
