I am 19, current 13.1 time is 1:32:21, from March 2017, on 40 mpw. I have since built up to 50mpw, after a 2 week break in June.
I want to run sub 1:25 at the same race next spring. What is the best strategy? Just increase my mileage to ~70mpw, with one tempo session and hold tight? Or keep the mileage at 50 and go a bit harder on the quality?
PS: I have NO talent whatsoever (my 5k time is 19:38 and I just get worse at any shorter distances!).
