This record is at the same pace of the 2k record of G. Dibaba!!!
I say this is the most notorious record in track and field ever. Way more notorious than Jarmila's and Flo Jo's!

Yes. So much so that most people don't even consider it a world record.
Ayana might be able to break 8 though.
Where have you been for the last 20 or so years?
Flo Jo's is more notorious, not saying it was better but the wind gage was faulty that day and should never have been ratified.
Koch's 47.6 might be better, some of the field events may also be superior eg. shot put.
This shouldn't be recorded as a record of any performance by a woman unless you want to know what the power of drugs have. I believe in the same race that she ran 8:06 there were 5-6 other athletes under 8:20. It shouldn't be on the books!
Why not?
Because she is Chinese not Kenyan?
What about Kenyans and Ethiopians WR?
If tested negative then she was clean, right?
Remember Lance? Never tested positive( but once).
This is why the IAAF wants to clean the history books and start anew.
No it is not. The reason is GREED for money and nothing else.
First they MUST implemented the same rules for everyone which today is not the case since in many countries there are no OOC testing at all.
Take a look on swimming - in 70's and 80's East Germany broke and hold every women world record (today and even in those days) we know why, but all those records have been smashed by new generations of swimmers. Every World championship or OG several records regularly have been broken. Important thing is that in swimming for example there is no money so there is a lot less doping and records can be broken.
In T&F there is no new world records and even times are much slower than in the past - generally. So public is not so more interested in the sport as during 90's when every race was world record attempt.
If athletes were tested negative than world records must remain. Why records after 2005 are anymore relevant that those from 90's?
WADA must be completely independent from IOC and WADA must decide for suspensions not IOC or national OC.
OG and WC medalist must be much thoroughly tested and samples kept for at least 20 years etc etc.
Now about willingness to fight irregularities - in youth WC competitions it is still not implemented wrist scan as proof of age of competitors so we have 25 years olds to compete with 18 years old.
It is notorious and the most impressive record, but FloJo's is more notorious.
Wangs record is out of reach of every female athlete ever, but there is im general a problem woth lack of WRs and fast times. I think a solution would be to take the diamond league, and keep the current system for events 400m and shorter, as those events are sprints. For events longer than that, reduce the payout for placing, however, give huge bonuses for fast times, and a gigantic one for the world record. This will force distance athlete's to not be content with just winning, and push them to run faster. Hopefully this will help us avoid another Farah.
At this point, i would say anything set by Ayana or Dibaba is not legitimate.
