I saw it on flotrack but just wanted to know some possible reasons. :)

Meh. She has, what, one year left? But maybe two years of eligibility? Sorry, I don't follow the Ivy League that closely.
But it really doesn't matter, in any case. Harvard recruits brilliantly and there's no reason they won't have done so again. They're the favorites for another triple crown.

Um. Not anymore. Have you been living under a rock?
Pics?
She left because Patrick Wales Dinan left.
According to the Flotrack article:
Smith's Track Personal Bests:
3K: 9:17 (2016)
5K: 15:46 (2016)
10K: 32:08 (2016)
Wow. Talk about a real distance runner.
I must be living under a rock. No idea who this runner is. Did she run NCAAs?
Yes, those times were for the early indoor season in 2016. She did not finish the season well, and did not compete in the outdoor season in 2016. She won the HEPS cross country in the fall of 2016, and then went on a medical leave from Harvard this past semester. Those times might not be attainable again. I wish her the best, but I do wonder if going to Stanford is the best fit for someone who may be more physically vulnerable now.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking more about the relative times (10K so much better than 5k, which was better than her 3K) but the absolute times are super fast too. Pity the way things have gone, hope she recovers
she ran in Olympic Trials last year:

Interesting...hadn't heard much from her since Melrose Place.
35:40? What type of injury kept her out 2017. Doesn't sound like a sub 32 is on the horizon.
She's good. When she signed out of HS I was somewhat surprised because of the distractions in Cambridge that she may have picked up on being a serious runner. But Harvard is Harvard and she seemed to be doing well, so why not stay for your Sr. year?

Is this one of the girls who lost a lot of weight, ran fast, crashed?
Nope.
Nicer weather and better trails nearby.
PWD was begging to volunteer at the farm, promised to bring along Courtney if they would take him, hope they aren't that foolish.
Courtney is not going to run 32:08 again, PWD ruined her. Feel sorry for the kid.
So is PWD now a volunteer coach at Stanford? Seems like a very bad decision on the part of Stanford. I would be shocked if this was actually the case
Don't know any of the details about the transfer but I would think Milt is smarter than that
Here's the flotrack article.
Damn - I was looking forward to seeing her back next year for the Crimson.
I hope PWD isn't trying to become a volunteer coach for Stanford.
According to the Stanford Athletics website, they already hired a new distance coach: Dylan Sorensen. Granted, he's going to focus on the men's distance while PWD just works with women. The coaches roster has not been updated yet with Sorensen's hire though.
