As someone who has never heard of Zen Miler, I was wondering if someone could tell me more about him. I’m legitimately interested. Is he like the Derek Rubis of high school running? More stories would be greatly appreciated!

I asked. Apparently Zen teased Andy Bosley about some embarrassing photos of Andy from when Andy was in college and Andy became afraid Zen was going to post them or something. I saw the email and will admit it looks like the teasing went too far but no where does anyone get threatened nor does it say Zen was going to post the pictures. I have seen worse things posted on letsrun. Also referenced is when Andy was at UW they teased Phil Downs about having a "big thing" (not the same words used) and Andy talked about his experience with it at a coaches meeting in great detail. After that he mentions the Muskego cross country coach [name redacted] shared details of a special needs high school runner who was also "blessed" but kept taking off his clothes all the time. Zen was apparently pissed that the coaches were more focused on that kind of talk than other more "important matters" relating to cross country. Trying to understand the story myself but I did not see any threats at all but I may only have parts of the story not all. There were some nice things Zen said about Drew Bosley and Mrs. Bosley though. Apparently Andy Bosley was banned from tracktalk for misrepresenting himself this week but no mention of it on the site. I was unaware he belonged but that is what zen texted me. Both went to UW so I dont really understand all the hate. It looks like Zen mentions his intention to keep it private but Andy forwarded parts of it to the coaches who are likely the ones here doing the bashing. Andy asked to talk to Zen on the phone and Zen gave Andy a number to Burger King instead. I am going to say rhosnis all stupid and these people should be friends and stop the he said she said. Focus on the kids.
More like you clearly are a Zen sock puppet trying to look like someone else...
He had a huge meltdown a couple years ago when he deleted everything on the website because people "didn't appreciate him" enough. He is wild, not sure how you can deny that. He has the ability to give a legit HS WI Honor Roll but doesn't want to do it cause he won't get paid. I mean, you can't blame him for that.
Interesting RPI-like algorithm developed by USTFCCCA. Not saying its 100% accurate, but here are the national rankings for WI DI teams after conference weekend.
Men: 318 DI Teams
11. Wisconsin
143. Marquette
167. Milwaukee
310. Green Bay
Women: 350 DI Teams
14. Wisconsin
167. Milwaukee
191. Marquette
323. Green Bay
Strongly disagree with where Wisconsin is ranked on the men's side. I think it would be disappointing if they finish out of the top 5 at nationals this year.
The rest of the list is probably reasonably accurate, and paints a good picture as to how the rest of the WI DI's stack up. Looking at it a little closer, its hard to feel good about any of the teams not named Madison.
Marquette use to actually be a decent running school, being ranked as high as 8th in the Great Lakes during the 2011 season. If you average that out over the 9 regions that are contested, they could be ranked somewhere between 65-75. How do you get passed by 70 teams??? The women's regression is even worse, being ranked as top 1/4 of the region in 2016 to the bottom half of the nation in just 2 seasons.
Milwaukee's numbers are deceptively high, but we may never know just how bad they were under Corfeld, since data just started for this new metric. What we do know is this: Pete Corfeld had 48 opportunities to win a Horizon League XC title, and he won zero times. Jake Reilly won on his first try with the women last week, and got second place with the men. Here's how difficult it is to win a Horizon League Women's XC title. Plot twist, it's not hard.
UWM Women ranked against P5 conferences:
Big Ten: Finishes behind all 14 teams
Big 12: Finishes behind 9/10 teams
SEC: Finishes behind all 14 teams
Pac 12: Finishes behind 11/12 teams
ACC: Finishes behind 14/15 teams
As for Green Bay... I'm just surprised there are actually 8 men's teams worse than them. They probably could not qualify for the state cross country championships.
I only know the top guys in the state and where they're going. If anyone has any rumors or details on incoming college athletes please help me fill this in. Taking sub 16:20 at ridges as criteria; feel free to list any other runners.

The top range talent for this class is up there for an all time best graduating class in WI history. There are 5 national elites listed with anywhere from 5-10 more potential greats that could bloom this spring. To add to that, there are several other non-elites listed here that will end up at a WIAC school and become DIII National studs. Can't wait to watch.

Sharp easily won the Australian World XC trial, will he race or redshirt XC this year?

What was up with those DQs anyway?
Per a post on tracktalk.net the race winner Kyler Lueck cut in too early and then his dad went crazy in response to the DQ. Was not there myself to verify.

How someone like this can function in society is well beyond me. If you look at Zen’s past, his antics have led to police involvement on more than one occasion. I legitimately fear for the livelihoods for TT users. As much as I miss the TT community, I feel I can’t justify supporting Zen. It makes it easy since I’m banned anyways for disagreeing.
Can you please define the words "justify" and "support" in your post? Because everything else youve posted in your emotionally infused missive holds absolutely no bearing. Nor is it accurate.
He fears for the livelihood of the users? Is zen the president or the house speaker or in the Supreme Court?
Can someone with any inside info please explain what happened to Noah T on UWM? No XC freshman year, competed indoor and outdoor. Then no XC this year, redshirted this indoor season, and now it doesn’t look like he competed in their first outdoor meet. He looked like he was gonna be great for UWM but now he’s totally off the grid
While we all enjoy this wonderful weather, lets recap the track season to date.
Highlights:
Morgan McDonald wins the 3k and 5k at NCAA's
Oliver Hoare 3rd in the Mile at NCAA's
Olin Hacker 4:01, 7:53 indoors
Kyler Lueck wins the 800 at DIII Nats, sub 1:50
Zach Lee wins the Mile at DIII Nats in 4:06
Thomas Schultz gets 5th at DIII Nats
Grant Marton gets 6th at DIII Nats
Wisco and the WIAC coming through big, like usual. Help add to the highlights.
Everyone loves to rip on Marquette but they stepped it up this indoor season.
Marquette had Eagan go 1:50 and 4:07, Miller go 1:50 and 4:11, Pederson 4:13, 8:17 and 14:30 and a surprise in Gross go 1:51 and 4:14.

The 800m times are for real, the other times are not very special. Marquette actually has three athletes with a reasonable chance of qualifying for the West Region Prelim this year, but they will all need to break 1:50 to get there. Possible, but unlikely.
Superior coaching still rules the day though. The WIAC system is incredible, they routinely produce great results with sub-par talent. I wonder how good Marquette, Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Parkside would be if they had Antczak, Stanley, Schwamberger, McKenna, or Miller.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
