What's the big deal? No chafing issues that I'm aware of
Long run out to 20 or so, what am I missing?

Nice work! Staying humble is underrated nowadays. I try to find basketball shorts with pockets so I can hold my phone, gels, etc.
Not even joking whenver I see someone in basketball shorts running i think they are the biggest noobs possible.

I'm a "noob" that's been running for a quarter century, including the obligatory D1 and over a dozen marathons. I now run in knee length shorts, as opposed to the two inch split shorts of my youth. I'm slower and more modest these days. I still weigh the same, but no one wants to see skinny old man thighs.
I do it sometimes if im going somewhere and dont want to be stuck in running shorts after. I find you gotta hike em up slightly but it aint to bad.
I've been running in basketball shorts for decades. I just like them.
Last half marathon I did, the winner raced in basketball shorts*. He ran 1:18, which I realize is hobby jogging to y'all, but it was a small local race.
*not long running shorts. actual basketball shorts.
That's Great! Thanks for posting!
