Question: 1) How many unarmed whites are killed by black police officers in a year or ever in America?
2) How many unarmed blacks are killed by white police officers in America? There were over 100 in 2015 alone. In 397 years since blacks have been in America, that number is very high.
Compare the numbers and now tell me there isn't a problem with this situation?
This would tell you nothing of substance.
1) There are fewer black police officers than white police officers. 2) Black police officers are more likely to patrol black communities as well (although there are still many white officers doing this because of #1). You would have to know the amount of black police officers interactions with white offenders and compare that with white police officers interactions with black offenders and then adjust proportionately. I would presume the number of white officers interactions with black offenders is MUCH higher. So of course you are going to be more likely to get more white police killing blacks in terms of raw numbers.
Does that make sense? It's late I've had a few brews so I don't know it I explained it well....
FYI I'm not denying there's a long history of institutional racism in this country. But, this doesn't prove it.
