What's a good pair to race a marathon aiming for sub 2:50 if I train in Pegasus?

Nobody has ever run faster than 2:50 training in Pegasus. If you want to try, I would go with the vibram five fingers (toes)

Are those made by Nike? If not, I can't wear them. I only trust Nike shoes as they are the bomb!!!!! All of my favorite athletes wear Nike! Did you know that they have a technology called zoom air where they put actual real genuine air into the shoes!
Zoom elite 6. No question about it. They're like a stripped down version of the new Pegs.
Zoom streak
I'd reckon that there are several dozen 2:04-2:10 marathoners who train in the Pegasus and race in the Zoom Streak 3-6 models.
You're probably going to trash your legs if you run a marathon in the streaks. I only wear them for shorter track workouts because I find they beat up my legs too much. Personally I am a fan of the lunaracer. A little bit more cushioning but still light enough to run fast in. Wear them for all my workouts and road races.

That's what I'm thinking too that Streaks will not be enough with my slow pace. What about Flyknit Lunar3 or Lunartempo 2? Are they responsive or lunaracer be better option?
Get the Lunar Racer 3. In my opinion the Lunar Racer 3 is a better race shoe than the Lunar Tempo 1/2 or the Flyknit Lunar 3. I own all three models and I always use the Lunar Racer 3 as my go to for 5k and up. The Streaks don't have enough support for the longer distances for me.

I too was brainwashed like you when I was young. Air? Of course that will make me run faster so I bought a pair of Tailwinds the first year they came out almost 40 years ago. I soon realized air wasn't going to make me the runner I aspired to be.
Now I run in the new Jusuvius H1's. They have helium in the soles!! I know I can break 2:50 in these things. I practically feel like I am floating when I'm out running.
Streaks for sure.
