But he has to wear a dress, his time of 2:28:39 was good enough for
woman's team, but not his goal of sub 2:15 for men's.
This guy was once a pro, and runs 1:07/1:21 splits, wtf!

McMillan predictor puts his 5k pb of 12:55 as a sub 2:06 marathon and 10k pb 27:54 as sub 2:11. Maybe he fell.
I reckon his b*lls weren't big enough.

We'll see Bro, once he wears a dress.

went out too hard and blew up. We all saw this coming of course. No one expected him to run a 2:15 in his first real race in years. If he starts doing some more racing maybe he can get down to 2:15 by 2020

Given the downhill start, I thought his 67:04 first half was only a bit fast,
*assuming* he had the training to run sub 2:15. His last 12k was bloody awful, much slower than 6min/mile.

Just goes to show, even elites are not immune to first marathon crashes. Tough day for Motts.

It's not a predictor. It's more of an equivalency calculator.

Wrong. McMillan's junk calculator is what McMillan *thinks* you can run. It has no formal basis at all.

Might have been too big, actually.

define formal basis?
Also, since you're a recognizer of junk, maybe you can eval whether Mottram's b*allz are big or small.

Going out in 67, his balls were too big. A smaller balled man would've gone slower the first half.
It's fair to say his balls probably got ahead of him.
From the above article:
"If it went well then yes, (the Olympics) was a possibility, but as it didn't the positive is still that I was able to do a marathon.
"And this will be my first and last - never again."

DRUGS
You can't just take years off and decide to jump back into elite level. Especially at his age and at the marathon. It takes years of consistent training.
Being a top elite is like playing king of the mountain. You're up there for a short while and when you kicked off you'll never be back in top. This is why Kipchoge's consistency is amazing. I think that guy is the best runner in our era just based on his 13 years of upper elite level performances.

What does his time from 12 years ago have to do with his marathon ability yesterday?
Does he care?, probably not. It was a pay day and a free trip and a chance to catch up with some mates and be part of the inner circle of a big event, something most on here will never experience. Could be having an extended holiday while he's there too.
He knew he had to go sub 2:15 to make Rio so that's what he went for, nothing ventured, nothing gained and in this case nothing lost.
Good on him.
