Sara Hall claims to not like the heat, so I say this favors her. She'll shock the world with a 2:27 (not FTW).
It won't snow. The British press are notoriously hysterical about the weather.
It hasn't snowed in London for about three years
Current prediction for Sunday is a high of 52 fahrenheit. Pretty close to ideal.
Just heard the latest BBC weather forecast for the marathon.
"It's going to be a cold one, 4-5 degrees C at the start."
Probability of a "breeze" getting up later - no idea how strong, prevailing wind direction for the whole UK is from the north, hence the cold!
"Should stay dry" (so no chance of snow) but the stragglers might get a bit damp
Overall it doesn't sound terrible but hardly what you could call ideal??
Saw a list of groups for elite runners. Group 1 is set to run at a pace of 2:03:30
4-5 degrees C is ideal
4-5 C ??!
I'm sat here now it's nothing like that!
That will be a sudden drop in temps.
A slight breeze & 52 degrees F. What in the world would anyone change here? Give me your optimal marathon conditions. You've got mine right there. And I mean optimal - I wouldn't change that temp one degree. Have read studies where 49 degrees is purportedly the ideal temp for distance races but I like it a tad warmer.
In Britain do they actually bet on temperature and snow chances? wtf

2:27 is not shock worthy.
Sunny and warm here this morning.
Fail to see snow coming tomorrow
Weather forecast is always wrong in this country.

Certain sections of the tabloid press (the mail, the express) have a habit of predicting blizzards and arctic temperatures every day from October to April. And scorching saharan heat the rest of the time. Needless to say, in London at least, it is almost within a band of about 8 - 22 degrees.
I wouldnt say it was warm here this morning though. I did a parkrun and kind of regretted not wearing gloves.
Very true.
It's a little chilly in the shade I guess.
Don't worry guys! I saw Bekele running 400's up Denali last week while I was in Alaska. He was only wearing a singlet and split shorts.
Expect great things.
Epic fail by the weatherman. In pre-colonial Africa witchdoctors got killed for failures like these.
