My left lung collapsed in January this year. I was in the hospital with a chest tube and after 6 weeks of no exercise, I began running again. After a few weeks of training my right lung collapsed (April). Now I'll miss the rest of the season and I need to get surgery over the summer ( i have a follow-up about the surgery in a few weeks). How am I going to get back into shape???? I'm a tall, skinny male with stick arms and I was just improving my times when the lungs started dropping. Does anyone have any tips for the surgery and how to get back into shape (recovery time, etc.).
After staying in the hospital for about a week, I'm starting to get depressed that this lung issue may occur over and over. I feel "tuned out" of the world and feel sad watching my teammates practice and get better. Any advice or suggestions on how to end this depression? Thanks.
