I always felt like I had the potential to run with a good team in college, but I feel like I have a disadvantage because I started so late (sophomore year) as opposed to the guys that ran in middle school or earlier. Additionally, I've had a few major injuries that have taken me out for months at a time. My worst fear is to not get the opportunity to reach my potential. So even though my times are slow this year, would colleges still give me the chance to run with them?
Sophomore year: Ran first 5K in 22 minutes, dropped to sub-18 by the end of the year. Didn't run in the winter, but broke 5 in the mile.
Junior year: Burned out, ran 17:37. Again, didn't run in the winter, burned out again in track and ran a 10:46 two mile.
Senior year: Great year, trained hard
5K: 16:40
3200m: 9:51
1600m: 4:32
800m: 2:07
I live in Colorado at altitude if that helps my case.
