i've been dealing with a chain of injuries of the last six months, seen multiple physical therapists, and am still trying to figure out what is going on with me.
here's a summary of the last six months:
-set a pr on a 50 miler by almost 2 hours
-took a week and a half off before starting back with easy, easy 2-4 mile jogs
-i probably started running back too soon, and had a knot come up in my left soleus near where it comes together with the gastroc
-over the next month had a massage and physical therapist attempt through astym and needling, but could not quite get rid of the knot in my soleus
-had dental surgery for implants
-from the surgery, i had some pain run down my neck
-the physical therapist addressed this through needling
-little to no running during this time
-started to feel slight pain, mostly just uncomfortable feeling around my SI joint
-the pain began to work its way up the left side of my back, into my glutes, psoas, into my trapezius, deltoid, neck, and jaw.
-worked with physical therapists for the last 5 months chasing the pain in with needling, massage, astym
-asked multiple times if i needed an mri, but was told no since i showed no signs of nerve issues or structural issues. everything was just muscular in nature.
-i've been doing posture restoration for the last month, and while it has helped some, all the pain in my back, trapezius, neck, jaw, etc has begun to creep back in
i'm starting to lose it a bit, since i have been unable to do any real physical exercise (lifting/running) because of the issue around my back, neck, psoas, etc. however, i just read that the soleus muscle can cause pain to refer to the lower back around the SI joint, in the jaw, and in some cases in the trapezius. so i am going to take that info to my physical therapist my next visit.
i was wondering if anybody out there has any suggestions thoughts on what could be going on. starting to wonder if i will just have pain from here on out or not.
thanks for any help i can get.
