I'm in my 20s and have always used watches. Mostly cheap timex watches that are 30-40 bucks that would get used up after a few years.
Just got my first "nice" watch. It's pretty cheap but it punches far above its weight. Yes, the Seiko 5. The watch that almost all watch aficionados say is the best entry-level automatic watch and the best value out there. Cost 57 bucks on amazon and 5 bucks to have the bracelet cut down a bit in size.
My second watch is a cheap casio geek-tech that costs 13-15 dollars and gets a LOT of attention since a lot of old guys used this watch as a kid.
Third watch is a "fashion watch" that is also cheap, about 20-30 bucks armitron. It was a gift from somebody so I only bought two watches.
Now the questions:
1. Do you guys still wear watches? I like it because it's faster than taking out my phone and checking the time that way, harkens back to simpler times, I can time my runs to get distance traveled, and you can surreptitiously check the time.
2. How dorky would it be to get a pocket watch? I was thinking about doing it sometime to emulate OLD school gentlemen. Before WW1 apparently only women and "dainty" men used wristwatches; pocket watches dominated.
