I guess it will be cool to see how fast he can go. His PR is way behind most of the field, so he will probably bring it down. I say 3:32 high if the pace goes quick. Of course, he could just get shot off the back by the leaders going out in 54. It is good he isn't taking a shot at another 5k somewhere-- he has done enough this year.
I would really like to see him do a half in a few weeks somewhere. I think the AR is his if he wants it.

I agree 100% man. Let's see Galen do a half marathon, Great North Run?
No Centro in that race.
I guess Salazar wanted Centro in Berlin and Rupp in Brussels.
Will Rupp beat Manzano?
I too think he should be doing a half marathon instead of a 1500.
This season has given me the impression (which could be wrong) that his speed isn't in a great place, but his endurance is. I'm not expecting much, but we'll see.
I'd guess this 1500 is to keep him sharp for the Continental Cup 5000. And to lower his PR from 2012. Wouldn't be surprised to see him finish in the back with this level of competition.
Or maybe his endurance has dropped off since his 10,000 and he hasn't been strong enough to kick for the win.
So he may be in better shape for a 1500 than a half marathon right now if he had been doing primarily speed work to sharpen for these 5000s and his mileage has suffered.
Maybe
Good. It is an off year, he should be just racing different events, not focusing on anything in particular. This could be a good confidence builder for future years or at very worst, a good check marl to indicate what is and isn't working in training this year for refining next year's training for a championship year.
Rupp beats manzano? In a 5k? Are you high? Manzano is having a fast season. The only way rupp beats manzano is if he pulls that "I'm not going to try business"
Manzano has already lost to lesser people this year.
I agree that Manzano should beat him hi he runs well but you can't be sure if he runs well.
I can see Rupp running 3:32 and that's not a gimme for Manzano even if he does keep his head in it.
He is probably hiring himself out as a rabbit because he is not rich and needs the money.
3:33.48 my prediction. Rupp will be blown into the back from a 53 first lap and then start making up ground after 850m and hold on for a lower middle pack finish.
Rupp will run a hefty PR
glad to see it. He should have gone after that American indoor mile record this year when he was in shape for it. I haven't seen anything in his races recently to think that his speed is at the same level right now, but 3:33 or under should be there for the taking regardless, since he ran 3:34 early season last year or the year before. At his peak, in a fast race like Monaco, he'd surely be able to finish within 2-3 seconds of Farah's 3:28.81.
At the end of a long season, it is often better to move down, not up.
Prediction: 3:34.5. Race wll be won in 3:32. Galen will be a second back at the bell and will lose a second or more to the winner.
3:38. Rupp was ready to return home last week.
Galen rupp is entered in the 1500 in Brussels.

Here's a stat for you. Farah's PB before he ran 3:28 last year was 3:33.98. So if Rupp improves as much as Farah, he'll break 3:30!!!
Wait, shouldn't we be talking about how he's doping or taking the "Centro-sauce"?? Aren't we suppose to ask if it's Rupp Certified? Then aren't we supposed to come up with outlandish predictions like 3:28.77 or go the other way and say "Rupp will never run under 3:35 again"??? How can I possibly read this thread with credibility right now???
