Looks like a fast field has been assembled for the steeple finale in Brussels this week. Could there finally be a sub 8? Could Jager AR? Could Hughes CR? How much hate can MMB race on? What will the winning celebration be this time?

Brussels Steeple - impressive start list

It would be cool if Jager gets the American record, Hughes gets the Canadian record and Mekhissi betters his the European record all in the same race.
-
How lucky is Andy Bayer?
Europe seems very political on who gets a start. -
Andy Bayer got in because of his agent. An agent will enter a major athlete with the stipulation that one of their up and comers get into another event or the same event. Paul Doyle deserves major props for scoring Andy a spot and is probably one of the better guys in the game.
-
Any idea what time this race is scheduled to start?
-
Hate to put the damper on things, but it is highly unlikely that you will see any sort of record this time of year.
-
I have been watching the Brooks Beasts videos on Flotrack and their coach and athletes seemed pretty whiney regarding getting into meets, but I am starting to notice it is pretty unfair.
The Beats really only have Mackey and Heath, but did Donn Cabral, Craig Forys, Donnie Cowart, or Cory Leslie not want to race Brussells steeple? They all have run faster and/or beat him head to head.
Is Paul Doyle that much more powerful than those others agents? -

What are you talking about? The world leading time is weak and if an athlete scores a WL they get a bonus in their contract. There is plenty of incentive and Jager wants to break his AR this year, so don't be surprised if he gets after it like he did earlier this season in Oslo. -

Loxsom was second at USA's and still can't get into A list races. Guess he doesn't have a PR performance to get him in anything.
He's a racer though and wouldn't be surprised to pop one when the time is right. -

What would be even cooler is if every nation that is represented in this race witnesses a new national record, but we all know that it will be tough for MMB to set a new PB and it sure will be difficult for Birech to better what Brimin did 3 years ago.
While very unlikely, how cool would it be if the WR set 10 years ago at this very same meet gets broken on Friday? -
when is the race? Thursday?

Didn't know Paul Doyle repped Bayer and I haven't checked who reps the other guys you mention, but Paul Doyle is certainly a very powerful agent. See http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/athlete-representatives/directory/paul-j-doyle-187635 for selected athletes he was repping as of 11/2013.
He also reps Gabe Grunewald, which I think has a LOT to do with why USATF ended up reinstating her as indoor 3000m champion.
He's also the guy behind those ATF meets this past spring/summer. -

Loxsom is entered in the 1000m at Brussels. Not a diamond race but looks like a pretty good field.
