Looks like a rivalry is building up here. I always liked Shannon...the USA 5k is definitely a ding on her resume', but I still generally like her. I also always liked Jenny, but the two seem to be gunning for each other and there seems to be a bit of coldness between the two.
Looks like they both are racing the 3k in Brussles. I also wouldn't be surprised to see these two lining up for the New York 5k dash or the Fifth Avenue Mile. Jenny has the edge for PR in 1500 and Rowburry in the 5k, but it's close in both and Jenny hasn't done many (if any) 5ks this year while Shannon's stock is rising in that event. After peaking and winning the Diamond league, it's going to be tough to turn it around and be competitive in Brussles for Jenny, and It wouldn't surprise me if she shuts it down for the season, While Rowburry is clearly hungry for more.
One thing about Rowbury (as far as Salazar's group is concerned), she doesn't duck competition, and Jenny is not known to do that either.
So Discussion:
1. For Brussels, will both actually make it to the starting line, or will one bow out? If one bows out, which one? Who has the edge in a faster race, who has the edge in a slower race?
2. What about the 5th avenue mile or dash? The 5th avenue is historically the last race for both of them, and both have had wins, but Jenny has a much better record, and has done better more recently. (don't think Shannon has won that since 2009).
