Shannon Rowbury and Jenny Simpson rematch in Brussles

Rowbury has indicated she wants to do a 3000 at the Continental Cup so it's unlikely she'd be at Fifth Avenue on the same weekend.

Shannon is really solid from 1500 - 5000 so she must want to test her 3000 ability when in top form. Jenny is also great at the steeple and xc so a 3000 should be a great distance for her, especially when working out with Coburn. Shannon is the one who seems constantly overshadowed by someone in some event, even though that someone seems to change from time to time. It would be nice to see her come up big in the 3000 in my opinion, but they are both fun to watch and do seem like great gals. Rooting for both.

Do these two really not like each other or are posters making this up?

Watch the end of the Zurich race. Neither said a word to the other as the got up off the ground. It seems there is no love lost between the two.

Yeah, that was pretty clear. After a one-two finish and both sub 4, you normally would have seen a hug or high five acknowledgement.

Could stem a bit from Goucher leaving NOP to join Wetmore (and Jenny) and leaving a stink of resentment behind her as well as the issue at indoors with Hasay and the walk off. Coburn (Jennys teammate) was involved in the walk off, which at least indirectly slighted Hasay. Maybe Shannon felt a little protective of her young teammate.

It's likely a little over-stated. They JUST finished a huge race and didn't even know who won. They were breathless, beat up, and emotionally taxed. I think Jenny even shrugged off Pheobe Wright initially (and NOBODY hates her).

I think they both deserve a bit of latitude...most of us would want to catch our breadth and get our barrings straight, and I don't think we afforded them that opportunity and are judging their actions without the appropriate context. Most of us would have reacted the same.

They fierce competitors, well prepared, and super talented...That's the rivalry.

I'll give you that possibility. But being that they were both laying on the ground right near each other after falling, and didn't even look at one another and then headed in different directions, it may be a little more. It almost take more effort to not look at the other person who fell.

Women athletes don't really congratulate each other after races unless they're already friends. They don't slap hands like guys do. The rivalry continues off the track as well.

Cool, thanks. My first thought is that Shannon should be able to hold Jenny off in a 3k. It should be another good race between the two, regardless.

I'll agree with a couple caveats:

1. They both actually race. I'm still not certain Jenny is going to be up for it. That's a pretty big high to come down from in order to get your self right to race again.

2. If it's a faster race, Shannon has shown she has the strength. If it's a slower race, I think Jenny is favored.

Several people interacted with Rowbury right after the race. Simpson was left lying there. Martinez even looks at her and then walks away.

Emma Coburn didn't seem bothered.

I swear you people are a bunch of catty girls with all these theories as to who likes whom. Unless they come out and state that they hate each other, who really cares otherwise, since it is none of your business anyway.

Team Shannon all the way. Jenny is an arrogant passive aggressive.
