make you wonder about doping. What other reasons?

tell me when you can
helluva lot more than you do
off his outdoor training with some minor sharpening for 1500
nonsense
the mile & 3000 are NOT similar
if his background 10k ability allowed him to run a fast 3k, then it shouda allowed him to run a fast 5k outdoors
he didn't
only a fool woud believe that was a fully 100% rupp operating outdoors
you are a fool if you think that
komen ran 3'29/3'46/12'39wr in same year
geb ran 3'31.7i/26'22wr
you obviously have no clue about the sport back then
geb had lost his 5k & 10k wrs both in 1 day back in '97 in last major meet of year & he had no opportunity left to get them back
his only goal in '98 was to get them back ( no global champs to distract him )
his '98 training was geared to getting his 5k/10k wrs back
the 1500 indoors wasn't even a target
he started off with smashing his 3k indoor wr from 7'30 to 7'26
a week later, with no point in running another 3k he chanced his arm at a 1500 & got a 3'31.7
the 3k was main aim for indoor, the 1500 was a unexpected bonus
to show he interested he was overall in indoors is that he ran grand total of 3 races - those 2 above & a 7'31 on 19th feb by when he gave up
he had a whole further month to chase times & maybe break 1500wr but not interested & concentrated on outdoors
his indoor season was run off outdoor 5k/10k training & his main target had been the 3k NOT the 1500
eh ???
i said geb was likely a 3'29 guy off his 3'31.7i
a time inferior to mo but geb's overall 1500 - 10k collated total points make him a superior runner
you have offered nothing
impress me
what 1500 shape you think geb was on his 26'22 day ???
The Rocket. wrote:Guy claims to be a physics expert and somehow he can prove using physics can explain how 3:32 on a banked 200m track is work 3:29 on a flat 400 m track.
The bank actually makes the runner faster and preserves speed better than a flat track.
The reason people don't run faster indoors isn't because of physics its because the Olympics are run outdoor and track is primarily an outdoor sport. Therefore most athletes choose to focus on outdoor and peak for that.
is this nonsense supposed to be serious ???
hicham ran 3'31.1iwr - look up his 1500 best that year ( better still his mile & convert it to 1500 )
kip ran 1'42.6iwr - look up his outdoor best that year
borza ran 1'44.1i - 2nd fastest performer still to this day - look up his outdoor best that year
if you don't believe in physics, then perhaps you believe that the ncaa, whose members include harvard/yale/princeton/etc coudn't get hold of physicists good enough to give reliable indoor/outdoor conversions
they give from their app
1'42.67i as 1'41.22
1'44.15i as 1'42.68
3'31.18i as 3'28.52
obviously ncaa coudn't get any "proper" physicists & all indoor/outdoor conversions are nonsensical because of some "olympic" effect ???
Komen 1997 wrote:Do u think Geb could have run 7:19 for 3k? Komens 7:20.67 is ridiculous and in my opinion the best WR! I have plugged his time into 3-4 different pace calculators and all of them came up with 3:56/mile. He did run 7:58 for a full 2 miles. That day he was in a league by himself when he ran 7:20. Geb ran 7:25 as his best. El Guerrouj ran 7:23. Komen ran 7:24.9 indoors.
tell me what you think geb's 7'26.15i was worth for outdoors ?
