They've been under .500 for the last 20 years. Last season they were 10+ games over .500 in August and still finished below .500 with an awful last month. Get at me when they get at least 82 wins. However, their hitting has been good in 2013, and a dominant bullpen gets them wins in many close games. If the pitching falters, so will the Pirates. I hope they make the playoffs though!
Raise it!
The Pirates are on the brink of being great again.
LET'S GO BUCS

They are great again. It's just a matter of when people will realize it. They have the best pitching staff in baseball. I'm pulling for a Pirates/Orioles Series like the good ol' days.
The rest of you can go piss up a rope
You say this on a running message board, why?

Believe it or not junior, many of us follow more than one sport. Interestingly enough, you might find more than a few non-running topics on this page. Look around you clown.

The Pirates DO NOT have good hitting this year, which is one of the reasons why I don't think they will stay on top of the NL Central. But I do think this is the year they finally end the losing streak. The pirates are competing every game this year and its awesome to see the excitement in the burgh again.
Its a long season and anything can happen, but LETS GO BUCS!

This is what drives many away.

Then leave. No one is stopping you. I've been watching people like you bitch about this site for over 10 years. Fvck off and GO BUCS!
You excite easily. Why is that?

Because I've waited 20 years for a season like this!
The 2005 Washington Nationals were 50-31 after 81 games. They finished the season 81-81. Nice start by the Pirates, but still a long ways to go.
You're a genius!
I assume you will declare the team who has the best record in baseball next week the "Greatest Team in Baseball".

This is also what attracts many here.
It drives away those worth listening to, and attracts Crossfitters and others who don't belong. There's nothing wrong with being a baseball fan, but talk about it with the boys when you grab a beer.

Sorry I'd rather not talk about the color of Gaylen Rupps spikes all day. If you dont want to post about baseball then dont open the thread. Nobody is being driven away by some good talk about baseball.
It sounds like you have a huge stick up your a$$. Maybe you should start a political thread to get some of the frustration off of your chest.

And they would've been a game behind the Pirates.

Fair enough. But please understand that your OP sounds like it was submitted by a child --> "This IS the year yinz bitches"?
