It tells runners where the timing mats are located. I am just wondering if there is an online record of the splits somewhere?
"Timing mats will be located at the start, 10K mark, 13.1 mile mark, 20 mile mark and the finish. Runners who do not register a split time at one of the checkpoints will be subject to disqualification." -
http://www.runcharlotte.com/welcome.htmOK found it.

Hope no jewish guy starts writing things about you in the sand so everyone can see. Throw many stones lately?
I smell some serious desperation by whoever is posting these comments about cowards, leaving people alone, "who cares", etc... I doubt it's Kip, but you never know.
One thing is obvious though, they are doing their best to distract everyone here and hijack the thread.
We won't let them. The light of truth is shining down and the vermin are becoming uncomfortable and growing desperate.
Since most of the trhreads on here are totally pointless, I have no issue with this one. At least it has a meaningful potential result- recognizing and publicizing a cheater, and letting others know that people notice these things. If only threads that have the moral equivilance of feeding starting African kids are allowed, this will be a very very empty board.

I agree with ending this thread. What is the point of it? What is hoped to be gained? To band together to prove a guy is cheating? Okay fair enough but why are you doing it in a public forum? You are publicly trashing someone because you think he cut a few courses? Really? Why? I can see only one reason, to get self satisfaction at the expense of someone else.
If you want to ban together to prove some old guy cheated at a few races I ask that you consider the forum that you do it in.
I have no problem with improving the integrity of the sport I just have a problem with the integrity of the way it is being done here.
I'm doing it in an effort to figure out how he is doing it. The resources of this board helps. If you don't like it find a thread on someones girlfreind farting.

This is a running message board. Kip Litton is a serial cheater. And thus the situation is natural for discussion.
All runners should know his name so he is unable to ever cheat again.
And maybe a public uncovering of a serial cheater will make other potential cheaters think twice before pulling shit like that.
so it would be cool if ur IT guy at work put ur page log report on the company intranet for everyone to analyze. i mean if u had a job.

Self employed and have made my money in life sonny.
I seem to recall that in one of the previously deleted threads - it was mentioned that Kip claimed that as part of his sub-3:00 in 50 states challenge, his charity got paid for each runner he past in the race, so he might claim a legitimate reason for starting late.
Of course that doesn't quite explain why he would use the same strategy in the BAA 5k.

Starting several minutes after the gun is part of Dr. Litton's MO, that's been established. Nobody has made a link between that perfectly okay start strategy and what he does after he crosses the start line. His chip times are 3-5 minutes slower than gun time. Ponder on that all you want but unless you can make a connection between that & his missing pics, improbable splits, etc, you offer nothing to the discussion.
And, he won't be coming back to the Vermont City Marathon in '11. His goal is to run sub-3:00 in all 50 states. VT is no longer on his list.

You make my point - note Kip starts several minutes after the gun but fail to make anything of it. If you're going to talk about it, link it to his cheating. I think there's some connection but haven't figure it out yet. The explanation rings hollow because there's no difference in money pledged based on how many runners he passes and how many runners he finishes ahead of. Beyond that, it's immaterial to his cheating unless we can link it in some way.
