OK so my biggest asset is my speed (49.8 400m). I'm also fairly skinny at 5'8" 130...very low body fat.
I figured with this speed and physique, I could be decent at longer distances...I've been running for almost a year now consistently at about 30-35 mpw (all easy miles). But I can't break 18 for 5k!
Seriously, I know I should up the mileage, and perhaps run some quality miles, but is this strange that I can't even break 18?
And does this mean I'll never be decent at 5k--is sub 15 a pipe dream even if I run 70+?
