This thread is in honor of the annual thread "The Stanford track is short".
What is the strangest or most unique track that you have run on?
Here are my two, both in Michigan.
Millington, it had a dirt track, yep dirt, not that big of deal, about five lanes at the start, but then as you made your way around the first curve in narrowed (yes, as in getting thinner) down to about 2.5 lanes. It seemed almost like a back woods two track on the back stretch. Then as you rounded the second curve, it gradually widen back to 5 lanes.
Not sure of the track, but it was in northern Michigan, the discus sector was nice, flat and level, but then at about 125 feet it starts to take a nose dive into a gulley for the next 75 feet or so, and then leveled out nicely. I am pretty sure that is not legal! I am not a weight guy, but it left me scratching my head.
Clare, good track really, and a good track school. This may be all in my head, but I swear the back stretch was always at a slight incline as you ran down the back stretch, it felt like it and looked like it to me. I was even there a few years ago, and I swear it was the same.
