Kandie's time makes him the fifth fastest man in history. Jepchirchir is actually #7 all-time with her 65:06 PB, but her 65:34 "women only" mark would be good for 14th on the list.

Under 58:30 for the men and under 66:11 (women's only WR) for the women are the goal times. The field includes nine sub-60 minute men lead by Stephen Kiprop (58:42) and Kibiwott Kandie (58:58) and five sub-66 women lead by Joan Chelimo (65:04) and Peres Jepchirchir (65:06).
