Philadelphia Eagles' Devon Allen Tore His ACL for 3rd Time in December; Still Hoping to Contend for Spot on 2024 Olympic Team

It was the third time Allen, the third-fastest 110h hurdler in history, has torn his ACL (two left, one right). Allen, who played in two NFL games for the Eagles this season, had surgery on January 5 and is hoping to return to racing at the Prefontaine Classic in May.

2021 Zagreb Results: Francine Niyonsaba Shatters 2000m World Record

Niyonsaba, who is banned from running in women's events between 400m and the mile as she is intersex, ran 5:21.56 to destroy Sonia O'Sullivan's outdoor world record of 5:25.36 which had stood since 1994. Niyonsaba's mark also was faster than Genzebe Dibaba's indoor world record of 5:23.75 set in 2017. In men's action, Devon Allen became the second man in 2021 to break 13:00 as he ran a new pb of 12.99. Other winners included Getnet Wale (8:12 steeple) and Ryan Crouser (22.84). *MB: Francine Niyonsaba breaks her first WORLD RECORD!!!

Oregon Freshman Devon Allen Stuns As U.S. 110 Hurdle Champ In Sacramento

Allen ran a slightly wind-aided 13.16 to beat defending champ Ryan Wilson by .005; David Oliver was 3rd. Jeneba Tarmoh (you remember her from the 2012 dead heat fiasco) won the 200 (22.06) as Curtis Mitchell ran 20.13 to beat Wallace Spearmon (20.19). Inika Mcpherson gets HJ title in 2.00m PR (previous best 1.96m) beating Chaunte Lowe and Brigetta Barrett. Kori Karter takes 400H as Johnny Dutch wins for the men (48.93). Sam Kendricks the PV (5.75), Jeffery Henderson the LJ, Gia Lewis-Smallwood the discus and Sean Furey the javelin.
