0.6% death rate is still pretty brutal
Funny how 2000+ unnecessary deaths a day in the country is seen as collateral by some
That's effectively a 9/11 happening every day l, and jesus christ we reacted to that - we banned songs by Rage Against The Machine and renamed fries as "freedom fries"
At this point, the virus can't be stopped. The only way to do that theoretically is to have everyone hide in their homes while the only economic activity centers on groceries, take out, and digital media. People keep bumbling about needing a vaccine, but that will take years. It's astounding how many of you morons think we can just hide in our homes for years while charging stimulus packages to the national credit card without any negative externalities such as widespread mental/emotional health issues, substance abuse, suicides, crime, and lives put on hold for years due to no graduations, marriages, and children. That's to say nothing of the famine that is projected to occur in developing countries.
I sympathize with the vulnerable and their concerns and feel horrible that people are dying from this, but things will get much worse if we don't let the vast majority of people who won't die from this go back to their normal lives.
