Not too excited about a picture from Coe winning a boycotted Olympics. Hollow victory.
That Ryun shot is amazing. Bannister image is legendary.
No one would have beat him moron.
Only appropriate since tomorrow would've been the Boston Marathon https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/obituaries/2019/08/07/life-apparent-death-rosie-ruiz-shrouded-bit-mystery/SiH65OvRI59uFkIK0012lL/story.html

I met the guy on the right (John Carlos). He did a talk at a lower-income minority middle school in my area, so I went. He seemed like a nice guy and had some cool stories, like how he would steal from barges for poor people in his neighborhood (I'm not going to get into the morality of that one), but I wished he would've spoken a bit more about his running experience.

So good. They should totally make a statue from that photo.

Love that one! Even if it wasn’t such a spectacular jump.

Geoff Smith (guy on the ground) was at the Adidas running camp as a counselor (as well as Grete Waitz) in PA training for this race while I was there as a H.S. runner. I spent a week there getting to run easy runs with them in the A.M. and trying to hang with Grete on the afternoon workouts.
That race was epic and the photo is awesome.
In my opinion it's the greatest photo in road racing history. Dixon speaks on all sorts of things in his career in this interview, it's a great read.
