I have to admit, that's a great one. I'd still go with Bannister.

Great, great photo, but not as iconic as Bannister IMO.

The head on shot of Coe in Moscow was on I believe 800 front pages of Newspapers around the world.
I'd put these in the running (no pun intended) for top 20...

It's definitely one of the all-time bests.
I am not going to get into this since it is all opinion, so please keep posting!
While it is not a photo, I bet when non-runners think "iconic running photo" this video comes to mind.

Not to mention the music.
Probably Bannister or the barefoot marathon
Ryun's first WR mile. He was 19.

Sydney 10k photo finish, probably the best photo of the EPO era; this pretty much marked the end of that group of runners.
Not too excited about a picture from Coe winning a boycotted Olympics. Hollow victory.
That Ryun shot is amazing. Bannister image is legendary.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
