The past can't be undone and you have an apology. Are you not satisfied?
To hell with the group and their rules. That's why I go solo.

not sure you're really being far here, cheech. this happens in every community. it's not a hobbyjogger problem; it's a people problem.
as for the original post: facebook groups are a privilege, not a right. same with this board. both are not public property that has been guaranteed by the bill of rights and protected by the government. if someone gets banned, kicked out, etc. at the moderator's discretion, then so be it.
get over it. it's a freaking facebook group.

That wasn't much of an "apology" he posted. Half of that "apology" in the screenshots is him attacking the "group" for calling out his dictatorship after the peasants revolted. How can you say "the group have put this behind us" when clearly they haven't and are not please with your lordship?

Thank you for your service posting the information! Stay safe since the Kremlin, errrrr......, I mean the admins of that group will try to hunt you down and find out who you are and silence you.
Just to clarify the issue.... this virtual road relays have been going since last Saturday (and ends up tomorrow). It replaces the National Men's 12 Stage and Women's 6 Stage Relays that normally take place this time of the year in Birmingham.
Each runner has to run a 5k on a course of his/her choosing, upload the Strava file and state the club is running for. Each runner has to abide to the social distancing rules in place here in UK. It is basically a solo time trial effort of 5k. The sum of best 12 men's times and 12 women's team for each club determine the final result for the club and its place in the rankings. THIS RELAY IS NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC - ONLY TO PEOPLE SIGNED WITH A CLUB. So that coach you mentioned didnt even need to go and advertise it on FB.
As a side note, it showed a lot of creativity in how to choose the right course in order to "game the relay"... slightly downhill courses, wind assisted, small loops.... the current mens leader is down with 13' 38" (but aint over yet)

I don't think anyone is claiming that it is a right. It's perfectly legal to block people for no reason. BUT! The group has a huge following and the potential to contribute meaningfully to the sport of running. At the moment it is forgoing that opportunity , and the mismanagement by the admins is a big part of that. It's on this basis that I'm criticising it.
I run the server behind this event. We had not yet scaled our system to handle the Kardashian-like "break the internet" levels of attention, because prior to this we ran small 'real' track meetings. Can I please ask nobody to post links to the race itself just yet, as the server loads are preventing people submitting their results? Next time round we'll be ready!

The admins have a right to ban people, and the general public has the right to criticize them on it.
John, I have no idea how I got into the group but am very glad I did. I enjoy it tremendously, have made a good friend who I'd never otherwise have known, and often find interesting topics. I appreciate what you do to keep it going l also have had no idea what this controversy was about until I saw this thread and still only half follow what's going on. But even if you are in the wrong here, and in no way am I saying that I think you are, you've earned the privilege of being less than perfect.
Not to be sexist, but am assuming the OP is a female who revels in drama. I say grow up and keep your exaggerated controversies to yourself or to your own little cluck.

Because of course John this is the first time you’ve banned anybody without them breaking any rules isn’t it? No you’ve done it before and yet you keep insisting people are only banned for breaking rules. That’s a fucking lie and you keep saying it. If you want to ban people for posting things you don’t like then the least you can do is admit that’s what you are doing rather than basically lying about those people in a forum where they have no right of reply. And no more bullshit about not sharing the reason publicly, you don’t even tell the banned person why they are banned, there’s no privacy issue it’s just you lot behaving like despots.

classic non apology apology if you were offended i apologized ie either he caused offence then he should apologies or he didnt then he shouldn't
Do you fancy taking your sexism somewhere else? There's no evidence of any kind to suggest the gender of the OP, and your wrongful stereotyping hasn't added anything useful or interesting to the discussion.
Official Results are up! Some solid times there for time trials!
