Well maybe I am, in fact, a complete lunatic, but I trained for marathon over winter at 80 to 100 miles per week and there were several weeks when I would only run my long run outside because 2 hours is the limit I put for myself on treadmill. Sometimes I would wake up in the morning and it's cold and dark and snowing outside and I wouldn't just want to get out there, other days I might be out of running gear because I only have 2 sets of tights. It also helped that I have a treadmill at the office which I used for easy pm doubles.
Funnily enough I'm only running outside now. I don't get how staying locked inside my house is going to help anything given that I run in the woods where there are no other people. It's 1 mile from my house to the edge of the forest and I might meet 1 or 2 persons while I get there, but it's very easy to circle around them not coming closer than 10 feet. I'm already working from home and having to also run at home would drive me insane for sure.
