Although there has only been one medal for Canada at the WC (gold in the wheelchair javelin), there still have been many bright spots. Tawa Dortch (sp) ran over a sec PR in the 400mh semis by taking it out from the gun, just missing a qualifying spot for the finals. Tyler Christopher is the fastest qualifier going into tonights final of the 400 and looked very controlled in the semis. Gary Reed cruised through the first round of the 800. Jessica Zelinsky narrowly missed the national record in the heptathlon, and Nate Brannen and Sully made the semis in the 1500 (I would have liked it if Sully could have made the finals one more time as I think he'll be moving up to the 5000 soon). But hats off especially to CBC's coverage of the WC. They showed the womens 10,000m in its entirety, with a retired Geoff Cowan commentating. It doesn't get much better than that. If any of you americans can get CBC somehow, I highly recommend watching their coverage (8-10pm ET every night, 12-2am ET saturday night). The coverage is unbiased and the commentators are very knowledgeable of the sport.
