I'm in France on the outskirts of a mid sized town, and have direct access to the countryside from my front door. I've just been out for a 40min run, during which time I saw 1 other runner and a couple of dog walkers.... you can see people from a long distance away (which I appreciate won't be the case for people living in large cities) so very easy to adjust your route accordingly and keep your distance. Required to carry a form stating that my sole purpose for being out is to exercise. I appreciate there have to be all encompassing 'rules', but it's mostly about applying basic common sense
