I'm hearing rumors of a tune-up half in AZ for Galen Rupp, can anyone confirm?

Looks confirmed, now the question is how can I watch? Does anyone know of a stream? Also predictions for Rupp?
Yes and I am patiently waiting for the masses of Rupp haters to enter the discussion and rip him apart as usual. (Got my popcorn and everything ready to read and get my LRC dose of LOL'S)
He’ll probably get 1:05. Way behind Walmsleys pace.
Lol, same. Big Rupp fan myself, understands why he gets some of the hate he gets but a lot of it seems unwarranted.
Mesa half marathon. Downhill course. 6:30 am start.
Ultra > Marathon, I really hope you are joking. Rupp might not run well Saturday but he is in another league from Walmsley.
Of course I’m joking. Looking forward to seeing what Rupps got!
He's running the Mesa/Phoenix Half Marathon. It's a fast downhill course with 350 ft net elevation loss and pretty much zero incline along the route. I'm sure he'll obliterate the course record.
wow going to mesa az
Does American record go down? It seems in reach. Is this a record eligible course?
3 weeks before the Trials. I could see him running fast. Not absolutely all out. If he runs comfortably, I would count him for top 3.
I hear he's just after the $300 cash prize and acrylic plaque for top HM finisher.
Any other true elites going to be there? It's hard to picture him not winning this half-marathon easily.

I mean top 3 at the Trials if he can run even a 65 half relaxed after his injury recovery. It would show he should not expect the injury to disrupt his marathon.
<3# I agree, it's tough because his ceiling is so much higher than anyone in the trials. There are still quite a few nagging things that could completely change things though.
Course does not meet World Athletics record criteria, both because of the distance separating start and finish and the amount of elevation drop.
I presume that means not American record eligible either.
Probably just looking for a tune up anyway.

I believe that Terry Cotton still has the American record for the fastest downhill marathon -- 59:41 at the 1986 Fontana Days race. With the latest shoe technology, maybe Rupp can beat that, but I'd probably bet against him here.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
