3:09 was possible at Houston.
He ran 1:30 for 13.1 as a solo time trial, which by itself is equivalent to 3:09, so I agree. He seems pretty philosophical and is moving on with proper humility. Good dude.

Kofuzi seems like a great guy but like most people his training is not ideal for a realistic attempt at sub3. His diet is also not great. He seems to get distracted by fads etc. maf training is useless, Nike coach is useless, all the gels he consumes are useless.
Race Recap with lots of data..also admits the HOKA Carbon Rocket's were the wrong shoe and started feeling foot pain early that got progressively worse. Time to end the silly NIKE boycott.
Time to stop using apostrophes to pluralize. ✌️

Kofuzi just isn't a sub 3:00 guy. He couldn't do it at the Tunnel Marathon (one of those downhill courses, and it's near Seattle so it rolls down close to sea level) while wearing the Next %. That's about as much aid as you can legally get in a race. Honestly that's fine, I understand that there are all kinds of runners out there, and it's good that people just get up and out the door in the first place. That part doesn't matter as much as the fact that he gives out wrong information about gear and training on his channel all the time, simply due to ignorance. He has a following and they take his word on everything, when he's just a regular dude with a camera. Yeah he's a nice guy, but that doesn't give him a pass for spreading BS.
This...
That tunnel mountain race just gave him false expectations of breaking 3. I think he would have to drastically change his training to break 3 on a flat course (and also forget about the selfie stick)
Half marathon time trials are useless, too. Unless your goal is to break 3 in a time trial, ha ha.
His best chance at breaking 3 would be to hire a good in-person coach. That 2k a month YouTube money would cover that.
I enjoy his running shoe reviews but it makes me whince when he gets his shoes soaking wet.

Kofuzi ran 2:56:47 in Tokyo in March.
All the people in this thread who said he couldn't break 3 hours carrying his selfie stick were dead wrong.

Correct and the fact that Asics flew him to Tokyo will have no effect on his future Asics shoe reviews.
i saw a few of his videos other day. quite informative about heart rate strap reviews.
