No Walmsley is not a 2:12 guy. He only ran a 1:04 over the half.
You Walmsley fanboys are truly amazing.

Ben Rosario thought Walmsley was a 2:11 guy. And that was in comparison to his guys, when Fauble was a 2:12 guy.

It doesn't matter what somebody thinks he can do.
It only matters what Walmsley actually did. So far. Marathons: Zero Half Marathon 1:04
So no, Jim is not a 2:11 guy just because somebody says so.
He's trying estimate potential based on what he has seen, not read a PR stat line. Duh.
Another lengthy thread about Jim Warmsley that nobody care.
Canova's conversion for his trained marathoners are 2 x HM + 5:00... so Walmsley, on his 1-shot Half of 1:04:00 would run 2:13:00.
Methinks Walmsley could run 1:02 with a few tries and thus is a sub-2:12 guy in my book.
I know some of the guys on NAZ and I’ll guarantee you the workout they did wasn’t at 6:15 pace.

Walmsley is getting paid to get attention to Hoka. Hoka doesn't care how well he does as long as he delivers fanboys who buy overpriced shoes.
I paid $150 for a pair of Hoka Bondi and ran 3,052 miles in them. You would have to put 5,000 miles on a pair of next % just to make them comparable. Know anybody who has done that yet?

No yet, but I have done 1500 miles in 4% in the last five+ months and they are still good to go. Also I bet I felt better running those miles in 6.5 oz shoes than wearing 11 oz Bondi. If your only point of reference is money then I would suggest you to run barefoot as it costs $0 so you can get more miles for the same buck.

Yeah, right. How many Marathons has Jim run again?
Zero.
Ohh that's right.
Real Fact Checker here... looks like Jim has run over 25 Marathons.

I don't think so. He has done the Marathon distance in ultra events, yes but not one Marathon race, I know of.

WOW, can’t wait to see what is to come, and if he will include more Marathon pace work.
150mpw of jogging on trails is a waste of energy ... Kawauchi has run 2:08 on half of that volume

Kawauchi has only 94 sub 2:20 marathons. What does he know?

I'd much rather have Walmsley on the trails and in road ultras than to have him being another 2:11 guy.

Nothing...Yuki wasn't even a pro runner with too much of a free time on his hands like Jim.
Jimbo is world class at working out...But it stops there!
