I know it is challenging for modern atheist to understand, but back in the day there are things called morals.
Atheists I know all have better morals than Christians, Muslims etc
Atheists or believers, one would expect a much more nuanced discussion in our society. People need to relax and go through their rituals, sure, but civilizations also need discourse and debate. Atheist or believer, it’s in vain without a good healthy slab of philosophy and thinking in one’s life and social circles. As I’ve expressed before, market forces of social and financial competition and oversupply have stifled our institutions and industries.
What is prostitution? What is immorality? There are twenty thousand such questions and barely anybody asks them. Humans operate in a smokescreen of competition. The interplay between all concepts. There is a general tendency among typical general audiences to know certain things are bad but not the big picture. For instance, if an economy has a large portion of it sex and ego fueled, then aren’t there piecemeal bits, aren’t these small actions important? Can a percentage of ego and sex drive exist and be sublimated for proper purposes? Where there is no nuanced discussion of these things or any things, how can people be taken seriously?
There are spectrums, that considers behavior in social scenes and politics. Can one be a quasi “prostitute” by falling below standards and going along with many scenes, platforms, places etc, that are gimmicky, dishonest, of bad heritage, etc?
What is usury? Are there non financial forms of usury? Money is simply a means of barter. Essentially all things have value and some commodification. Therefore, poseurish, mean spirited, selfish group copy cat behavior, plagiarism, phoning it in in professions and within society, etc., is as much usury as is responsible or irresponsible instruments of debt. I have not encountered any living people or conventional scholars who ever had this wider understanding of usury, economy, fairness, etc.
Like Jesus said, if you’re going off to war or building a tower, you want to take stock to see if you can finish. With the tastelessness and style of most people’s social lives, conversations and “monuments” and the failure to team up and discuss earnestly, it feels like a long wait for a second great awakening.
