How do sub-elites feel about getting "chicked" by Kosgei?

B. Kosgei is light years ahead of all the American women. Gwen Jorgensen, said she wants or will win the Olympic marathon? Please!!! Delusional! Sarah Sellers is like 3 miles behind Kosgei, so her run has ended.

I can't speak for the sub-elites you mention, but it's not like it's a new thing. Every time a woman runs a 2:18 or 2:20 or even a 2:30 in a mixed race, the men just behind her are going to be guys who are used to being considered fairly studly on their local scene having to swallow their pride a little bit. It's all good, though. I think it's generally a good thing to be reminded periodically of exactly where you stand.

isnt there a story on LR where coevett got beat at some turkey trot by some kenyan lady and he freaked out in front of everyone at the awards? someone please share the story

Emma Bates is super-awesome. She actually ran races to raise $ for the wildfires in California last year.

Not a problem. For instance, I couldn't best any female medalist at the World Championships.

Of course, I'm getting close to 60 years old, so I'm just happy to still be out on the roads. :)

I'm always more surprised than I should be when it comes to just how much better elite men look than 2:20+ guys. We look skinny-fat and pathetic by comparison as we run... or like we've got bricks in our legs.

Fixed that for you. Usually the most bitter ones are also the dirtiest who can't accept anyone let alone a female could be naturally better than them.

Does not Molly Huddle hold TC 10 mile course record? I am interested to see if Brigid Kosgei will go for a sub-49 10 mile there. [That 10 mile course makes a lot more sense than Twin Cities Marathon. Ten mile is nearly a direct run from dt Minneapolis to capitol in Saint Paul.]
