Or did he shoot his wad in the 5000m?
Or did he shoot his wad in the 5000m?
His legs were torn apart in the 5000. Ethiopians used the dirty tactic of slashing him with their spikes. No way he goes on to run the 1500.
No, Jakob will not medal in the 1500

You mean Jakob used the dirty tactic of trying to take Moh out 3 or 4 times by tripping him?
Just stay home devastated, little dave22.

I think he'll get bronze and Coevett will shoot his wad and claim GOAT status for Jakob.
I was thinking the same thing! I was a fan until this meet, he's in the same boat as Alysia Montano....dumb pack runners!
Agree, watched the 5K several times, junior fouled everyone he could, front/back/sideways, then was passed by runners who weren’t even in the picture for the podiums, then collapsed.
Dad should disavow the tactics, Jr should apologize, Team Ingebritsen should be in the lexicon under “amateurs.”
There's a good chance Jakob will again attempt to pass on the in-field and will probably batter the calves of several runners in front of him. A medal may be less likely. Another swan-dive is a must.
J. Ing. has no raw foot speed. Cram had weak foot speed for a sub-1:44 800m, but he was a sub-1:44 800m man. Cram could wait until 200m to go against most athletes. J. Ing., in a slow race needs a 500m or 700m launch to the finish. I do not think J. Ing. has it in him to do what Steve Cram did in 1983 W.C. 1500m final, racing app. 65 seconds over final 500m.
Modern runners, world famous before they can use electric shavers...(to paraphrase Sin City)

C'mon...you really think that was intentional? Have you never raced before? I get your frustration, but don't get carried away.
no,he wont medal.not even close.
He has to get out the heats first, then out of the semis.
There is no guarantee that will happen. Might want to bet on a DQ and it sticking this time.
Just stop. wrote:

I have raced, yes. Track too. And I coach runners that also race on the track.
I have no problem saying that Jakob Ingebrigtsen comes across as a dirty racer.
And I am not frustrated at all. He should have been DQd in the semis, so karma just caught up with him in the final.
It depends on the race. That depends on the qualified runners. If tefera and souleyman qualifies for the final its not going to be a slow tactical race. Then he very well medal. In a slow tactical I doubt he can match lew, George, craig, musagala and potatim in the final lap.
I don't think there is any dirty racing there, just trying to hold his line on the inside when he is getting impinged by other runners, which is why people like Seb Coe would take the outside where they lost ground but could always control their destiny. He was shot at the end of the 5, but has a few days to rest. He will contend. I'm not sure that the huge breakthrough expected this year after running 3:31 last year is going to happen until next year. If he's fresh again, he should medal. He's been the second best 1500m runner all year.
He better. Or I will post non stop about him being a trash middle of the pack runner who does nothing but lose and will never amount to anything in life.
The Ingerbrigsten are dirty. Did you see what his brother did to the Ethiopian on the 1500 qualification?

Yes. It runs in the family.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
