It’s always funny to me how different coaches approach marathon training. I’ve heard good coaches disparage the lack of shorter racing in marathon prep because training for the speed and power needed in those shorter races optimizes the body for faster marathon paces. To AlSal’s point though, I guess you don’t have to *race* those distances to get the training right.
