According to the CDC 20.6% of teens are overweight/obese. The average teen consumes 20+ hours of screen time per week. Over 20% of teens are depressed and/or have mental health issues. People are worried about a family that likes to run, has success running and maybe the parents move locations to give the kids opportunities? I'm so sick of the letsrun know it all that feels the need to tell everyone when a kid should "peak". Maybe, just maybe the kid is enjoying competing at a high level in high school or god forbid middle school! Yikes! Maybe, they want to live for today and not tomorrow? 5% of high school runners run in college. The percentage of college runners that go on to become professional runners is less than 2% according to the NCAA. The bottom line is that the Pings threaten the 20% listed above. That 20% is who we need to call social services for.. NOT THE PINGS.....
