These parent have their priorities messed up that they’ve moved their family 3 times in four years based on their kids’ cross country preferences.
They move around like NBA players.

This is another reason that I dislike NXN. It has caused this craziness.
The Pings will disappear on their new team. How does a world record holder deal with being 3rd on her team? Yes they will be good but I predict 16:30 in college for the Pings.

The team's current #1 looks to have a 5K XC PR of 17:58. Based on that, the Pings will arrive as #1 and #2 on the team (or co-#1's, as far as I see it).
And you thought Ryan Deak was ridiculous…
They are trying to break the Affolders’ record!

The Affolders are a military family. Moves have been essentially out of their control.

Whazzup, bruh?!
Well Ping golf clubs are made in Arizona so maybe they are hoping for some sponsorship.
Let them be dude. What do you get out of haranguing a couple of kids?
Not a coach. wrote:

Probably more of a shot at the parents than the kids, but how does one differentiate?
Nice to see its all about the kids. Why is half the article about Dr Messer(whoever that is).
"I continue to support the boys varsity group at Coach Hanson’s discretion. I emphasize, however, that my defining, current commitment is to the girls varsity group,” Messer said. “I construct their training plan. I lead and facilitate varsity girls practices. I will make decisions regarding the girls varsity roster. I will be accountable for the girls varsity performances.”
As everyone knows the #1 factor in success -especially in high school- is having a talented group of people not some brilliant training plan which is just the same as every other one.
Messer is the coach who helped the DV girls get to NXN several years back. As you can tell by his statements, he’s the classic example of a guy with a PhD who for some reason teaches high school and coaches cross country, and of course demands attention and seeks the credit for success. Listen to the guy talk - it is creepy.
I mean really, it takes a very *special* person to put together and present a 235 page powerpoint just regurgitating research data. It is no coincidence the Pings are going to this program, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Messer had been in contact with the parents and outright recruited them to his team in an effort for relevancy again.
I’d pay good money to watch he and JMAR get locked in a room together for an hour.
Dr. Messer teaches at one of the local colleges. He is a peculiar guy, but his heart is in the right place. Exercise science is his passion, and he coaches as a means to use the knowledge he has.

Families move all the time, and especially when the bread winner gets a better job offer. How could you boys not know this?
Funny how they always have to move to school districts with powerhouse cross country programs . Just a coincidence.
Well when you're moving to a new area and have a choice… why not go specifically to where your kids' interests are most embraced?

I would hope the conversation wouldn't go something like this:
Mom & Dad: "Girls, an opportunity that's too good to pass up has come along, but it would mean we'd have to move to Arizona."
Ping sisters: "Can we find a school that has bad cross country & track programs?"
Utah does not allow middle schoolers to run varsity.
Grace lost a year of competition in Utah, so i
don't what power house school you are talking about.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
