Slower running.
It would decrease performance until the plasma volume is replaced. Luckily, one can replace plasma volume pretty quickly.
Think about dehydrating yourself which is essentially what you are doing.
How much plasma is removed? I remember folks doing this but never knew how much is removed.
it's not so simple. you can replace the blood volume very rapidly simply by hydrating, but the actual red blood cells take quite a while to regenerate. You will likely be weaker for quite some time if donating a significant quantity of blood. Someone must know how long this is (weeks, if I recall correctly?)
3 weeks
By plasma, you are referring to platelettes, right?
You can donate platelettes every two weeks if you want. The body replaces them fairly rapidly. At least in my case, as my count is pretty high. The hospitals LOVE people who donate platelettes, they call the stuff 'liquid gold' as it is PRICELESS for people having chemotherapy.
If anyone here is considering donating blood, which is a very vital and cool thing to do, have them check your platelette count as well.
Be advised the procedure takes somewhat longer, but the end result is that you are prolonging and benefitting the life of someone in very dire need.
Please consider doing it, all of you.

I thought it was twice a week. Local plasma center lets you in twice a week, takes like 48 hours for the body to replenish.
Basically, donating plasma will make you dehydrated. So drink lots of water afterward.

why dont you donate your bone marrow too while you're at it. Im sure it has absolutely no effect on your running.
No not weeks luckily. Several days really. You use up and replace your RBC's very rapidly anyways so as long as you donte the blood with a few easy rest days coming up anyways, you may not even notice. Wouldn't do it before a race though!!!! Huggs Becky

Read the original post, it says "plasma" not blood.

You get back some performance with proper hydration, but it takes longer than a few days to replace the RBCs.
You replace the RBCs you lose naturally pretty fast, but you rarely lose a unit a day.
