Mile.
Must be on some ghost pepper sauce.
last time a woman from the Netherlands held the woman's record in the mile was 1969.
Roughly 2:08 and 2:04 splits!
In Monaco? Geeeeezzz
Great, great run.
When Cram said she was ahead of WR pace with a lap to go I couldn't believe he then discounted her chance of the record as she was flying.
I haven't looked at the Worlds schedule but dont' see why she should run the 10k.
Well I'm assuming he was wary of her slowing after a blazing 3rd lap. However, she's so strong and really Kipyegon has historically been, too. So when they go flat out from 700m out, they can just hammer.
A probably clean WR in the mile sinks like a stone on LRC. What does this have to do with Rapinoe or Meza?

Thing is that nobody in the 10k can touch her unless Ayana turns it around, while she'd have to deal with Dibaba and Kipyegon both in form in the 15. Also I believe the 15/5k double at Worlds is impossible this year, so she has to do 10k/5k if she wants to double.

I'm a big fan of Sifan. But because of the toxic nature of this message board, I rarely post. You get a bunch of unregistered users who claim every good runner is doping. I get tired of seeing it. I can only hope that others will do the same and stop coming on here. It was so exciting to see her joy. I can only pray she doesn't come on this site to see all the morons who will call her a drug cheat.
I think she is phenomenal. She looks really strong and is a threat at any distance she chooses. After setting the WR in the mile, I'm sure she'll throw out the 10k and go for the 1500/5K double in Doha.
Doha 2019 1500m final will look something like:
Faith Kipyegon
Laura Muir
Jenny Simpson
Sifan Hassan
Genzebe Dibaba
Shelby Houlihan
Guday Tsegay
Rababe Arafi
She's a good time trial 1500 runner. But in a sit and kick championship race? No. 5k/10k double will be a safe bet for her. She has really good strength, see her half marathon last year.

Is this all you've got?
Do you have anything to share with us other than something off the top of your head.

Just put 2 and 2 together.
Previous record held by a Russian in the 90s.
For what it's worth, it appears Muir + Hassan didn't want to be associated with Dibaba after her coach got busted. No doubt NOP raises some concerns but I assume NOP is giving her anything/everything that can pass a test and is science backed. Their practices are shady but their athletes don't get popped. Yea it's silly that everyone on the team "needs" an inhaler, or an IV drip, or has low t or thyroid but it's not like everyone else in the world isn't doing that and goes further.
If we live in a world where everyone is doping then it's not going to be fun to watch fast times. I'm going to cheer for people with no doping allegations, celebrate fast runs, and condemn anyone who gets busted. I don't know the point of speculating about every performance out there.
Not so sure the 1500 will be a sit-and-kick race. We have precedent that Dibaba wants to go from further out. Muir doesn't want to leave it until the last 200. Hassan if she's smart can just dawdle for two laps and run a controlled grinding pace to the finish. Kipyegon might be unbeatable this way, but I think the rest are.

This thread is useless without splits (and a final time).

I was thinking the same. Although as someone else said, she has a ridiculous amount of strength, too, and would probably have a good chance at winning the 10k. I agree, but it'd just seem crazy if the woman that just broke the mile WR skipped the 1500!!!
