Flagpole, you really can't even leave the Politics crapp in the other thread? You have to come on this thread and spew your Trump trashing here? Your hatred of Trump consumes you 24/7 and is very unhealthy.
Wejo, everyone lives in a bubble 24/7 now. Pick one. One of the results is that everyone is in a constant RAGE about everything that doesn't conform to the views within their bubble. In fact, a major component of bubble-living is echoing the righteousness of us as compared to the evil that makes them. People, get out of your bubbles. As a former hard left leftie, I can tell you with zero doubt that those of you living in your leftie bubble are every bit as ugly and unhinged as the worst of the Foxie Trumpians. It is possible to be so angry about the right that you simply become the mirror image. I see it happening more and more over time.

I'm now part of the vast left wing conspiracy and right wing conspiracy at the same time. Amazing.

you're 100% right that most people can't figure out how to integrate information that doesn't conform to their worldview. i ignored hurricane katrina for almost a decade because kanye said something mean about the president my parents voted into office. I ignored the catholic abuse scandal because I just assumed the press was muckraking just to make catholics look bad. I assumed that people who were anti-war in the early 2000s hated america and were with the terrorists.
even though I was in middle school when I thought this way, I still feel pretty bad that I was brainwashed to be so dismissive of people in need.
she is not a good person and not a good American
How many people bashing Rapinoe on here would have worship Tim Tebow if he'd won a super bowl and refused to go to the White House on political grounds? The thing with Rapinoe and Tebow is that agree or disagree with their personal politics, you can tell they are honest about what they think and say.
Tim Tebow is alive only because his parents decided against getting an abortion, despite the fact that there were dangerous complications with the pregnancy. You think that impacts his pro-life stance?
Megan Rapinoe is only allowed to marry the person she loves because of a long political and legal fight waged by liberals, and opposed tooth and nail by conservatives. Same-Sex marriage wasn't fully legalized until 2015. You think that impacts her social and political stances?
It'd be nice if we hated each other a little less, and instead tried to understand and empathize with each other a bit more. Doesn't mean we have to agree, but it's more constructive than rushing to fire off juvenile insults on a message board composing the most devastating twitter burn.
I think if we did that more often, we wouldn't be so easily fooled by the liars, opportunists and cynical career politicians. We'd be better at recognizing and valuing authenticity in other people.
So what are you saying? That some chosen people have utter license to do and say whatever they please and are exempt from criticism? If so, who exactly are these people and how do they earn that status?

AGAIN AND AGAIN
I'm not saying they're exempt from criticism, I'm saying there's a difference between disagreeing with someone but still trying to understand their perspective, vs deciding that anyone who disagrees with your politics is the enemy. Once you do that, the hateful rhetoric gets out of control and it has a very damaging effect on society.
I, for one, do not hate anyone because I am a lover not a hater, but it is perfectly reasonable for people to hate Donald Trump, because what he does is hateful to most decent people.
He's a serial liar.
He's a criminal (Individual-1 lest anyone forget)
He's a racist.
He's a misogynist.
He's anti-gay rights which are human rights.
He's against free speech.
He's against transparency.
He is a phony and a fraud (I stole that from Mitt Romney, but he's correct about that).
He currently has 24 accusations of sexual misconduct against him.
His "charity" had to dissolve due to ‘Shocking Pattern of Illegality’.
He defrauded people who attended Trump University and had to pay $25 million as a result.
He was directly involved in denying black Americans fair housing.
He was caught on tape saying he doesn't even wait to kiss women and that he grabs them by the p*ssy.
He's an adulterer.
He's a bad businessman.
He cozies up to murderous strongmen around the world while greatly criticizing our traditional allies.
He thinks we had airports in 1775.
I could go on and on.
Even though I am not a hater, I DO recognize incompetence and hateful people, and I will call that out. Trump is both of those things.
There were reasons to give Trump a chance in 2016. Why not give an outsider a chance? He was a "successful" businessman who claimed he didn't need any help from anyone and therefore would not beholden to anyone. Well, we have since learned not only that he's a horrible businessman and nowhere near as wealthy as he says...we also have learned just how terrible of a human being he is.
Also, I do not hate stupid people, for they can not help it that they are stupid, but there are only two types of non-elected officials who currently continue to support or defend Trump:
1) JUST stupid.
2) Racist (for all racist people are stupid, but not all stupid people are racist).
You must not have heard of Paul Ryan or Rex Tillerson. Both have met Trump, neither cares for him, and both know him to be a gutless, ignorant lout. Be best!
You are just a straight up hater and so is she. Negative, hateful, and always complaining. Yet offering nothing.
Well, she was clever enough to pull the wool over Wejo’s eyes

Welcome to the club!
In two weeks nobody will know or care about what she has to say about anything ever again. She's 34 so she's too old to compete in the next WC. Maybe she could take a shot at a spot on a TV show or run but athletes rank up there with actors and reality tv stars when it comes to being vacuous self obsessed idiots,
Opposition to killing babies in utero and support for deviant sexual behavior are not morally equivalent.
Unity ONLY if you agree with her beliefs. That's called bullying.

1.if it's in utero then by definition it is not a baby
2. her sexual behavior is not deviant. It's clearly within current commonly accepted norms.
3. Try again
She is very opinionated and outspoken. She isn't wrong but she may have lost her ability to speak out with relevance because the World Cup is over. Women's soccer is moving forward very well and the US team is very good. I wish her the best and congratulate the team on winning gold.

that is the case for almost all the other players but Rapinoe elevated herself to the next tier. expect her to make the full rounds on Ellen and saturday night live etc and keep her start afloat enough to still be a relevant quote/show guest etc during the next election. after that, who knows
she's more than a soccer player now, at least for the next ~18 months or so
opinion and outspoken would seem to be the right recipe anyway to remain relevant, no? or is it a different formula for women still?
