So Kerr has already run faster than Farah outside of Monaco. Farah's fastest outside Monaco is 3:34+
Looking very good for Kerr!

Did I accidentally get onto the British LetsRun site?

The Brits are taking over again, haha.
Max Burgin breaks Steve Ovett's U18 800m record and Josh Kerr breaks Steve Cram's U23 1500m record, both in the same weekend.
Kerr is also ranked 3rd in GB in the 800m too.

I went to the Covett Mile meet in Eugene in September 1982, but neither of the blokes showed up—a total dodge. OTC Elite has a British coach and a bunch of furriners, and Oregon21 has a Brit running it.
Brooks beasts just killed it today. I'd like to see a duel meet style showdwon between them and tinman elite in the mile.
Even after Kerr throwing down this time I'd put my money on drew winning it. He has just a small edge of Kerr in my opinion. Even if Kerr gets lucky and takes the win I don't even think it will matter.
Gusman and Parsons will take the next 2 places. Parsons is coming off a national title in the 3k, so you know he's ready to compete at the top level. Gusman has been transition up in miliage and seems to be moving to the marathon, but if he takes a full training cycle focused on the 1500m then hes a 3:33 guy at least. The only brooks beast that can do that is Kerr.
Really the only advantage that Brooks has is depth of 3:37-3:40 guys. As long as tinman elite show up on race day it won't be any issue for them.
The information about Jordan Gusman is not accurate. He's been running less mileage under my coaching than he did under the direction his previous coach (Dick Telford) in Australia. Jordan has run ~90-miles per week under my coaching, Previously, he ran ~105-120 per week.
Jordan and I have not talked about moving him to the marathon. Currently, his focus is on the 5,000m. He also competes in 1500m, 3000m, and 10,000m races to balance his development of speed and stamina.
Jordan started this year with a win in the Australian Championships 5,000m race; outkicking Stewart McSweyn, who is the real deal! This spring, with two of his (Tinman Elite) teammates, Drew Hunter, and Sam Parsons, Jordan dipped under the IAAF World Track & Field Championships qualifying standard, which is 13:22.5. Jordan ran 13:21.35 (results link of letsrun.com is shown below).
Tomorrow, Jordan will arrive in Europe and stay there for about 5-weeks. Both Jordan and Sam Parsons will compete in a 3,000m race in Lucerne, Switzerland. They may compete in the 1500m in Kortrijk (Belgium). But, it has not been set. We talked about it yesterday, and I will talk with Ray Flynn (their agent). After the Kortrijk meet, Jordan will compete in the London Diamond League 5,000m race or the same distance in Leuven, Belgium.
By the way, this spring Jordan won the 5,000 and 10,000m at the national championships in Malta, not long, and he placed 2nd in the 1500m. This October, I will likely race in the World Track & Field Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Take care,
Coach Schwartz
Jordan will likely compete in the World Championships in Doha. In haste, I sometimes create typos and fail to see them. Sorry about that.

I’d rather see a duel showdwon between John Capriotti and Danny Mackey.
It’s dual meet, moran.
Wow Ball, hot take. I guess I'll believe it when I see it and being that I saw Kerr run 3:33 this weekend in my own back yard, from the front, not chasing times in a DL meet in Europe, my money would be on him right now. Kerr looked strong as an ox out there and in total control.

Kerr to me is like a powerful racehorse. A bit of a hybrid of John Walker and Steve Cram.
I think you mean depth of guys who are 3.33-3.37, not 3.37-3.40. Tinman would lose. By a lot.
Kerr would win, under any race condition. Slow pace? Kerr has more raw speed. Fast pace? Kerr has better PRs. As far as I see it unless Kerr gets hit by lightning mid-race Hunter will always get second.
Heres how the 1500/Mile Duel would go:
Brooks Beasts- 1, 3, 4, 6, 7
Tinman Elite - 2, 5, 8, 9, 10
Tinman is a great program, great advocates for the sport, fast guys, good people and they do it the right way. Don't get me wrong, fantastic program and in 5 years who knows. BUT currently the Mile/1500 isn't their game. For the Beasts it is.
Now the real barn burner would be John "Cap Daddy" Capriotti vs Danny "Mystic Mac" Mackey. Taking Mackey for $20.
Beasts would beat the tinmen for sure in a 4x1mi or whatever type of middle distance race you create. I think that the tinmen would probably agree with that statement too. That isn't really their focus, although I know that they stay in touch with 800/1500 speed all year. The beasts are very specialized
I understand why Colleges bring in foreigners but why do American Companies spend dollars to helping to develop foreigners.
1. It’s a bad look.
2. G. B. has no idea what Kerr is wearing so it is not selling shoes.
Thanks for the detailed info, tinman

Does anyone else feel Kerr has more upside than Jakob? I could see Jakob run a 3:29 at some point but I could see Kerr go faster than him, and go at least 3:28. Kerr has far less years of all out training and has run far less mileage than Jakob.
no, definitely not. i think jakob's PR is already faster than what Kerr will ever run.
Kerr beats Hunter almost every time our. Faster PRs at 800 and 1500 by 2+ seconds each. Kerr is also only 7 seconds slower over 5,000m.
The next two Beasts at 3:35 would likely beat Gusman and Parsons as well.
Btw when did Danny Mackey become a good coach? Beasts are killing it. I can see Kidder or Wynne on the US 1500 team for Doha.
1:46.06 off negative splits!

Not sure about Kerr breaking any UK age group record!?
Coe broke the WR at 22, running 3:32.03, and Cram run 3:31.66 in 1983, also at age 22.

You'll have to remember that you are talking about a poster who is perpetually wrong. If you're going to try to point out all of the errors you'll waste your life away.
