That’s exactly how it was.
You probably had a bad race but it was 60 degrees with a tailwind. Either you paced or fueled poorly cause those are A- conditions
60 degrees might be A- temperature for a 5 or 10k but it’s hot for a marathon.

What a ridiculous troll thread... praising a couple US men who finished 7th and 8th for successfully running under a round number, yet bashing Jordan Hasay for finishing 3rd after an injury layoff? Round numbers are what it is all about! I guess you would have been happier if she ran 2:24:59 and finished 6th? But no...
This thread is about generating drama clicks from the letsrun degenerates at any cost. Unfortunately, the typical letsrunner would have very little interest in a positive thread about a high school phenom yet again defying the odds and overcoming adversity as an adult. Stay classy, letsrun!
The men were sub elites, not expected to be in the top 10, let alone olympic team contenders. Hasay is a former olympian and expected to be competing with the world's best, not the us's best.
Hasay will medal in Tokyo.

People thinking I'm bashing Hasay are making me laugh. I also started a thread on Yuki and Ritz. Half the people thought I was bashing Ritz. Another half thought I was bashing Yuki for showboating. In reality, I was just pointing out facts that I thought were interesting. Same thing here.
You started a thread on your own site that had troll characteristics. You should probably just admit that. Anytime someone would say "pump the brakes", implies that they disagree with the consensus. So, you knew that you'd get reactions. If you didn't think that people would react to your title or post, then you have a self-awareness issue. But I'm pretty sure you don't - so I'll just chalk this up to someone who wanted to bait some of the more fervent Hasay supporters.
Your comment about Yuki & Ritz above is totally irrelevant (right up there with the dude asking for your marathon time). And in the case of this thread, your title has one fact (2 women breaking 2:25); one opinion (the weather); and one editorial statement (Pump the brakes). So, not the same thing as pointing out "facts".
While you're not directly "bashing" Jordan Hasay; you wrote (and titled) a thread that sure looked like you were less than impressed. And you're entitled to that opinion - but shouldn't be surprised at all by a reaction.
Monday was Jordan's worst run marathon race ever, yet she still finished third, taking several scalps. That's pretty good in my opinion.
rojo has the moral maturity and world view of a child - so don't be too hard on him. self-awareness issue - check doesn't understand facts - check surprised by reaction - check
Sorry, but 2019 was a better race for Hasay than 2017. In 2017, Hasay was in a group of 3 that separated in a big way the second half. When the Kenyans dropped the pace, Hasay just held on to Chelimo for the podium finish, but had no pressure from Assefa. In 2019, Hasay fell behind Assefa when the Kiplagat surged. Hasay had to fight to get back and pass Assefa and then had to keep pushing to keep Assefa from catching her. In both Chicago and Boston in 2017, Hasay just held on with the lead pack of three to finish third. This was the first time she caught a very strong runner and was able to hold her off to get a podium. That is important racing experience for Jordan as she has previously only been able to hold on with the final lead group. It is also a good sign that she was able to do that in a very warm and hilly race. So, the fact that she did not break 2:25 is completely irrelevant especially going into a year of championship marathon racing.

And yet, folks like you just keep on clicking on them.
I didn't get to watch the Boston marathon so I like to read these posts that give more insight into the accomplishments.
2017 seems more impressive to me. If she had the fitness that she had in 2017, she would have just gone with Degefa when she made her break. Yeah, in 2019 she had to fight more/differently at the end, but because she put herself in a position where she had to. 2017 was more impressive, but 2019 was still impressive, particularly as here worst marathon.

Bashing? Maybe not but it was a clickbait thread.

Except one time I breaked my bone and I blamed my stock broker! LOL! And he said like gimme a brake! hee hee
What's really funny is that for a guy who's probably never even tried drugs, he writes like he's high/drunk most of the time.

Wrong, WRONG, WRONG!!!
BOTH were TOP 10 in their most recent WMM race with no reason that they shouldn't repeat that here.
CAN YOU PUMP THE BRAKES ON ACTING SO GD DEFENSIVE ON HERE WHEN YOU GET CALLED OUT???
You need to try to listen more. Just do less sometimes. Clearly 99% of this thread disagrees with you which means, maybe, that you got something a little wrong on this one. You come in quickly to tear down a woman for finishing 3rd at the Boston Marathon & start a thread celebrating two under 2:10. We can celebrate all & provide critiques but leading off the commentary on Hasay like this wasn't the way to go about it. We don't need you to respond to a bunch of posters and share some links. Your post was click bait and wasn't fair when you're celebrating the top American men. Stop firing back all the time and stop it with the whole people can't take criticisms in 2019. This isn't a liberal/conservative thing. Your take was just plain bad in 2019. I'm looking forward to your lengthy response and defense of every poster that disagrees. Ya'll need some oversight before you post some truly awful content on here sometimes.
Despite the butt hurt naysayers and spelling follies, Rojos assessment is spot on.
JH did not perform to her or Saladbars expectations.
Objectively speaking, and as one poster noted, the American men were 8 minutes off WR pace while JH was 11 minutes of womens WR pace.
Rojo is not afraid to hold a mirror up to the situation and let the truth be reflected.
Fanbois just get their panties wadded up easily.
Snowflakes.

You didn't write a nice piece about Jordan, Jonathan Gault did. If I was Jordan, I would by the OP.
